Tbh one of the best food experiences we’ve had in Kauai. More on the “pricey” side sure but we’ve had some other meals similar in price that did not compare to the food & experience here. We ordered the crab cakes & grilled shrimp appetizers, the salad that had papaya in it and the special of the night “ma Kai” & wow everything was divine. Taste buds were so happy here - we even ordered the crab cakes a second time before dessert if that doesn’t tell you enough lol. The passion fruit mousse was the perfect end off - the dessert wasn’t too heavy or filling but still for flavorful and yummy. Server & manager we spoke with during our time - Ashland and Jared were both super friendly and kind, even gave us some local recommendations we were looking for! We’ll definitely be back :)
We dined at Merriman’s during our anniversary trip to Kauai, and it was hands down our favorite meal of the entire trip. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and truly top-notch without ever feeling rushed. I ordered the mac nut mahi, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and my husband had the steak, which he said was one of the best he’s ever had—tender, well-seasoned, and cooked exactly as requested. Every detail, from the food to the atmosphere, made the evening feel special and memorable. Merriman’s was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary, and it’s a restaurant we’ll absolutely return to on our next visit to Kauai. Highly recommend.
My husband and I came to Merriman’s here in Kauai to celebrate our 5th anniversary since we wed at the sister restaurant in Maui. We had a wonderful dinner thanks to our server Eric. Everyone on the staff was welcoming and the food was delicious! Would rec to everyone! :-)
We had gone to the Merriman's on the Big Island before and were excited to go here. Well, we ended up eating here twice on this trip because it is so good. Service is casual, attentive, and knowledgeable. The restaurant is simple in decor, but clean and attractive. The views are quite nice being on the second floor helps. The food is seasonal and the specials were worth trying. Everything was delicious. One of our steaks came out overcooked and they were eager to fix it. We will certainly be back. Reservations recommended.
Merriman’s is a classic Kaua’i dining experience - definitely a little bougie, a lot delicious, and great vibes. The upstairs location in Kukui’ula Shopping Village overlooks the ocean (pro tip, com here during sunset because it’s pure magic ). I got their famous mai tai with lilikoi foam If you haven’t tried it, it’s a non-negotiable! My friend had the Hanalei Taro Falafel, and I went with the garlic roasted wild shrimp + bok choy. Both tasty, portions on the smaller side, and definitely a splurge! Do you have food allergies? We’ll know that Merrimans’s is great about double checking ingredients! Last note, we grabbed bar seats with no wait, but I’d recommend reservations if you want a table!
Really good food, really good service. They were quick at getting our food out to us. We had the mahi mahi, and the lobster kalua pork ramen. Highly recommend this place. Also the Mai Tai was perfect.
A wonderful dinner on our first full day in Kauai. Best signature Mai Tai's, fresh fennel, papaya, and avocado salad, and extremely fresh and tasty macadamia nut Mahi-Mahi entrees (locally caught). Bobby took excellent care of us and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Certainly not cheap - you can eat nearby at Living Foods in the same shopping center and save a few dollars on another night to balance off the expenditure.
One of the best meals we had on the island. We celebrated our engagement and the service was impeccable! Food was absolutely incredible and so delicious. Highly highly recommend. We are coming back tomorrow night for dinner
